Eco - Schools

Eco- Schools is an international programme that guides and helps schools to become sustainable, something the Government wants all schools to be by 2020.

An Eco-Committee led by us, the children at Deansfield, will help the school to follow a seven step process. Small environmental changes can result in big financial savings. It covers nine topics, which are water, biodiversity energy, global perspectives, healthy living, litter, school grounds, transport and waste.

We have achieved the Eco-School Bronze  Award.

Our Eco-Action team, which meets regularly,  has representatives from Year 2 to Year 6.

We think it is important to set a good example in school to help our environment and everyone should be involved. Everyone should be involved in reducing, reusing and recycling. We are working to further improve our recycling in school particularly with classroom and packed lunch waste. If we are environmentally friendly our planet will be preserved for the future as pollution is damaging our environment.
We use energy from the solar panels that were installed on rooves of our buildings which helps to reduce our carbon footprint.
