Our normal communication been disrupted by COVID 19 and resultant social distancing.
Staff have been in contact with parents by telephone when necessary during the pandemic and have had virtual parents meetings using Google Meet.
We look forward to resuming the normal communication and involvement with parents, outlined below, as soon as restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so.

A successful partnership between home and school is seen as key to ensuring success for all learners at Deansfield.  As a school we have a complete commitment to establishing the most effective communication with parents that we possibly can and to providing as many opportunities as possible for us to work in partnership.  Our communication map, at the bottom of the page, indicates the many ways we hope to include parents in our school community and ensure that they are kept fully informed of daily/weekly and termly activities and events. There are opportunities for daily, weekly, termly and annual involvement in the activities of the school:

Daily communication/involvement

· Friday Flier newsletter provides information and updates on current news, events and activities

· Café formally set up for parents every Friday

· Homework journals/Reading Logs and Contact Books shared between home and school.

Termly communication/involvement

· Parent workshops to inform parents of the school’s teaching provision for
   Early Years, reading, writing, maths, behaviour and communication

· Parent Interviews with Class Teachers

· Termly Newsletters outlining the curriculum for the term ahead for each Year Group

· Parent Questionnaires consult with parents and provide an opportunity for parents to express views on key aspects of the school

· Head Teacher/Parent coffee mornings

· SEND coffee mornings providing parents of children with SEND with an opportunity to meet with each other and with the SENCO/Inclusion Leader

· Termly targets set for children with SEND shared with parents
