School road closure

Dear parents and carers,

As you are aware at the end of last year, we implemented a great scheme called School Streets which creates a traffic free space and makes the road safer and less polluted for children and parents walking, cycling and scooting to school.  The scheme involves the temporary closure of a section of Glenesk Road between Rochester Way and Dairsie Road for 30 minutes at school drop-off and pick up times. The Scheme is now in consultation with Greenwich council, and we are very much hoping it can stay.

We do however Still need the support of all our parents to continue the success of the scheme.  We require Two volunteers for each session to attend the barriers allowing the residents living along that section of road access to their property at all times.  The Morning Session will run from 8.30am – 9am and the afternoon session 3.15pm – 3.45pm.  The scheme heavily relies on volunteers and if you are able to help or know someone, maybe a friend or neighbour or grandparent who would like to help please email the office at  If you would like more information about volunteering, what’s involved or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the office.

We hope you agree that the school streets scheme has already made the school a safer place for both children and parents.  By volunteering you are helping to keep it going, we need your help!
